What a wild summer that was, am I right? I say that even though there wasn’t anything in particular that was too dramatic about my summer – yet I kept having this weird feeling that everything felt a bit…weird, and many others that I talked to about this felt the same way. Eventually I realized that after the last two summers of COVID-ness, this summer finally felt “normal-ish”, and that was the weird feeling, and it took a little getting used to.
Comparing what was the last normal summer before COVID (so, 2019 right?) to the summer of 2022, so much has changed for me. In 2019 I had a pre-teen who is totally a teen now, meaning there is lots of uncharted parenting territory currently being traveled. Also, way back then I had been trying to figure out what to do with my burning passion (which is the mission of health and healing!) that I had very limited time for, and now I have a blog and a newly completed Health Coach Certification (yay!), with many other ideas in the hopper. Two years ago I was pouring most of my time and energy into homeschooling my daughter, and now she is back in school and I suddenly find myself with a lot more time to focus on that burning passion again.
Seasons of change are always a mixed bag - There are exciting expectations for the future, but also nervousness, there is hopefulness and optimism for the new, but also nostalgia over the old and even a sense of loss (particularly true when it comes to kids growing up so fast). There are wins and there are losses, there are challenges and there are opportunities. But, as they say, that’s life!
With every season of change, however, intentionally seeking the growth opportunities and embracing them is the key, and that’s what I’m meditating on this month. It’s perfect timing as the weather and the leaves slowly start to give little hints that a literal new season is just around the corner.
I look forward to posting a lot more and possibly working on some other crazy projects in this next season as I focus more on my passion and goals. Please always feel free to reach out to me with ideas or thoughts at kelly@crazyhealthlady.com!
